Volunteers

Empower others. Become an advocate in your community!

Our volunteers are a dedicated group, comprised of professionals and concerned friends with varied backgrounds and talents. These people provide the CWC with helping hands and generous hearts, making our fund-raising events successful while having a lot of fun along the way.

The Healing Power of Doing Good
"Conventional wisdom has always held that when we help others, some of the good we do flows back to us.  That satisfaction has always been thought to be largely emotional – feeling good when you do good.  Now important, widely discussed research shows that helping others regularly produces significant health benefits as well – in fact, it has effects similar to those many of us experience when we exercise."
- The Healing Power of Doing Good, Allan Luks with Peggy Payne

We have many exciting ways that you can become involved. If you have a compassionate heart, a helping hand and a smile to give come and join our group. Whether you have an hour a week, a few hours a month, or a day to give, you can make a difference. The compassion our volunteers show to our mission, and their dedication is what makes this organization unique. Please see below for our volunteer opportunities.

Lucia’s Angels If you have ever being affected by breast cancer, you know the difference a friend and caretaker can make in your life. Be an Angel, be there for a woman in the late stages of cancer. You can accompany her to a wide range of services; whether it is a manicure or house chores, an angel makes the difference in the life of the whole family.

Clerical/Office Support Do you have an eye for detail? Are you organized? Do you love to write and file letters? This is your calling. The administration of the CWC is pivotal to the success of our programs.

Development/Fundraising Do you like fundraising, asking friends and business to support a great cause? Then this is for you. Help us in our fundraising department, by doing prospect research, opportunity grants, major gifts and many more.

Special Events If you like the crowd and like to entertain this is your match. Help us organize our special events, meet & greet, set up & clean up of party, sign in and mingle with the crowd.

Rose Buds If you are a teenager looking for an organization to adopt, this is the place for you. Our Rose Buds help us with fundraising, craft assembling, youth input into our programs and providing us with an edge. If you need credit from your school this is the place for you too.

Garden of Hope Are you an outdoor enthusiast, rain, shine or snow? This is your call. Help us maintain, lay engrave bricks, photograph and advertise our Garden of Hope in the grounds of the Southampton Hospital.

Technical Support Do you have expertise in website design and maintenance? You can help us maintain our website and Facebook pages, update the calendar of events and change information as needed.
